The LDSC is committed to raising the profile of the Transport, Logistics, Defence, Defence Industries and Wholesale sectors and to inform stakeholders of the opportunities and initiatives that are available, particularly in relation to the engagement of young people. We regularly engage with our RTO networks through our industry working groups and annual RTO Forums to discuss training and workforce development issues within WA.
Our activities include:
- Developing promotional materials and career and training information, including pathways, which clearly illustrate career progression within industries.
- Distributing information to individuals and schools through careers advisers, employers and our website.
- Keeping career coordinators informed of career developments in the industry
- Advising schools of opportunities with Transport, Logistics, Defence and Defence Industries and undertaking school visits with industry representatives.
- Providing an interface between schools and employers to develop school-based traineeships to align with local employment opportunities.
- Actively promoting traineeships to industry through workshops, emails and information on the website.
