The LDSC provides time-critical strategic development advice directly to the Department of Training and Workforce Development (DTWD) and the Office of the State Training Board to assist in informing their labour and economic market research and analysis. This is done via our Industry Working Groups (IWG), regional visits and other industry engagement conducted throughout the year by the LDSC.
Our work with industry is used to provide feedback and recommendations to the DTWD on the critical occupations listed in the State Priority Occupation List (SPOL), Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL), Priority Industry Qualification List (PIQL), as well the Vet Qualifications for Secondary Students Register. Training Councils are the first point of contact for feedback regarding these lists. Please see below for more detail on these lists.
If you have queries regarding specific occupations, or if you feel an occupation in your industry should be considered for these lists, please contact us. For more information on any of these lists you can also visit the DTWDs website: www.dtwd.wa.gov.au.
