Our Staff

Jillian Dielesen

Chief Executive Officer
Jillian has a strong background in training and industry, having spent 10 years running her own small business before working as a lecturer at Challenger TAFE for 7 years. She then moved to the Light Manufacturing Industry Training Council as Executive Officer, where her knowledge of industry needs and training was invaluable.

Since joining the LDSC in 2009, Jillian has provided strategic advice on the current and future training needs of the Transport and Logistics industries to the Department of Training and Workforce Development and the State Training Board.

She is responsible for ensuring that any training developed nationally is appropriate for the State and meets industry’s needs. She is also responsible for ensuring that the Transport Industry has a voice in determining the future workforce development needs of the State.

Jillian’s extensive background in working with the VET system on both a State and National level, combined with her experience with industry, makes her a perfect candidate to identify skills development requirements for the transport and logistics industry and develop strategies to address them. Apart from Jillian’s strategic activities at the LDSC, she will also be focussing on the Maritime, Stevedoring and Ports sectors.

Michael Taremba

Project Manager
Michael has over 5 years of experience working in logistics. Bringing an industry background ranging from operational roles in food logistics through to planning and coordination work, he joined the LDSC in early 2010. As part of the Workforce Development Plan, he investigates social, economic and industrial trends relating to transport and logistics. Drawing on his academic experience in economics and project management, he regularly consults with a diverse group of stakeholders on training and workforce development concerns.

In addition to this, he has worked on and facilitated a number of project initiatives designed to increase levels of workforce participation. His main focus areas are rail, warehousing, freight forwarding, aviation and wholesale.

Amanda Green

Project Officer
Amanda joined the Logistics & Defence Skills Council (LDSC) in February 2018, having previously worked as a Policy Advisory with the Resources Industry Training Council (RITC). Amanda has over 15 years’ experience specialising in Organisational Psychology, Human Resource Consulting and providing in-house customised Training. Amanda’s employment history and voluntary pro-bono work has provided her with the opportunity to work with many organisations within Local and State Government, as well as the not for profit and private industry. As well as her practical experience, Amanda has an Undergraduate degree in Psychology (BPsych) and is progressing towards the completion of her Masters in Applied Psychology (Organisational). She looks forward to working with the team to improve the workforce capacity of the industries under the LDSC’s coverage.

Amanda’s main focus areas are road transport and logistics.
