Civmec has invested in shipbuilding and sustainment capability with a new 70-metre high hall supporting marine, defence and resources sectors located in Henderson, Western Australia. The new ship assembly hall makes it one of the largest fabrication workshops in Australia.
Shipbuilder Civmec and marine services specialist Serco have joined forces in pursuit of the LAND 8710 Phase 1A program that will deliver the next generation landing craft or littoral maneuver vessels for the Australian Army. This is a medium class vessel capable of shipping Army’s future vehicles in riverine and shore environments. The team designed the ‘Oboe’ littoral maneuver vessel medium (LMV-M) to meet the needs of the ADF - LAND 8710-1A program.
