Federal, state and territory governments have opened a consultation process on the proposed new model of VET qualifications that is being publicly canvassed. There is an online survey that covers 14 questions on areas such as training product design, terminology, training delivery and approaches, collaboration and engagement, and implementation and transition.
Note: the reform is still in its early stages and a final decision is yet to be made. The survey closes 17 March 2023.

Safe Work Australia is reviewing the high risk work licensing for cranes to ensure it remains relevant to contemporary work practices and equipment. A discussion paper on crane licensing is now open for public consultation. Submissions are open until 16 June 2022 and can be made online.
The Rail Industry Reference Committee has submitted the Case for Endorsement and draft Training Package materials for the Rail Customer Service project to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee (AISC) for their consideration. The materials include updates to two qualifications, one Skill Set and eight associated Units of Competency, addressing customer service skills and knowledge related to ticketing and security requirements.
