The Transport and Logistics Industry Reference Committee has submitted the Case for Endorsement and draft Training Package materials for the Materiel and Deployment Logistics project to the Australian Industry and Skills Committee for their consideration. The revised materials include updates to four qualifications, five Skill Sets and 31 Units of Competency. These draft products address changes in technology and Defence processes and provide an aligned career pathway for Defence and logistics support personnel to enhance workforce mobility across the sector.

The public review period for version 1 draft revised material has now closed. The public validation period will commence on 28 June, where stakeholders will have an opportunity to comment on the next version of the draft revised TAE Training Package materials (Feedback closes 14 July 2022). Australian Industry Standards (AIS) have advised the Commercial Pilot Regulatory Update project which involved the Diploma of Aviation (Commercial Pilot Licence – Aeroplane), two Skills Sets and three Units of Competency have been updated to enhance the safety of pilots when undertaking ‘incipient spin’ manoeuvres. The units have been amended to address changes to CASA regulations Part 61 Manual of Standards (MOS).
Two Skill Sets have been updated to incorporate the changes to these units. In addition, AVIY0017Y Control aircraft in advanced flight manoeuvres has been updated and moved to the elective bank of the qualification following the deletion of a previous Skill Set.
