Holders of an interstate or New Zealand heavy vehicle driver’s licence do not need to apply for a WA driver’s licence until 28 February 2023 (or until the expiry of their licence, whichever comes first). This means that if you hold a valid Interstate or New Zealand heavy vehicle driver’s licence, you may continue to drive on this licence. You must comply with any conditions on your licence and only drive the class(es) of vehicles authorised by your licence. These measures are a temporary COVID 19 response measure, to be reviewed within 12 months after implementation.
