More than $1bn in new wage subsidies will be available for up to 70,000 more apprentices to address the outcome of the pending cessation of the JobKeeper subsidy.
The Federal Government is hoping to extend a lifeline to employers for the hiring of new trainees. With the JobKeeper wage subsidy due to end this month, an existing 50 per cent wage subsidy for trainees that has run in parallel from October last year, will now be uncapped and extended for another year.
