The Maritime Training Package (Release 7.0) has been endorsed by Skills Ministers for implementation.
The Maritime Industry Reference Committee, with the support of Technical Advisory Committees, has revised the Certificate I in Maritime Operations (General Purpose Hand Near Coastal) and developed new Units of Competency and Skill Sets for specialist maritime operations.
The revised Training Package enables workforce mobility and supports the development of specialised career pathways for Dynamic Positioning Operators, Compass Adjusters and Maritime Towage, as a result of the following projects:
Maritime Operations (General Purpose Hand Near Coastal)
The new Units of Competency related to Dynamic Positioning, Compass Adjuster and Maritime Towage have been included in the Diploma of Maritime Operations.
To support the delivery of the Training Package, a Companion Volume Implementation Guide (CVIG) has been developed to assist assessors, trainers, Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) and enterprises. The CVIG contains a comprehensive list of all products in the Training Package. It also includes a link to mapping information which details the changes that have been made to the materials, regulation and licensing implications, and useful links to other information.
The endorsed Maritime Training Package, Release 7.0 materials are now available on training.gov.au.
