Properly informing and protecting learners when delivering units of competency linked to occupational licensing – TAC
In a related update TAC have reminded RTOs that in the case of units of competency linked to occupational licensing, State or Commonwealth government licensing agencies may require additional assessment requirements. For RTOs, this means they must ensure any assessment linked to the licensing requirement is clearly distinguished from information about assessment designed to meet the requirements of units of competency. For example, TAC explains if conducting units of competency linked to heavy vehicle driver training, the requirements of the unit of competency must be clearly explained, identified and represented as separate from the Practical Driving Assessment requirements conducted on behalf of the Department of Transport by RTO staff authorised to do so.
